Draft Proofing

    Benefits

  • Our House saves £43 per year
  • Warmer and more comfortable
  • Less waste, lower carbon emissions
  • Very likely to qualify for Green Deal finance

In a typical home 20% of all heat loss is through ventilation and draughts.

Only a quarter of 24.5 million dwellings in the UK are properly draught proofed.

In our model of the semi-detached house (above) draught proofing our house would save £47 a year.

Draught proofing involves installing high quality brushes and seals between the opening parts of windows and doors, so once closed the seal and brushes close the gap and stop draughts entering. The quality of the materials is paramount so they can stand the wear and tear. Good quality materials carry a warranty of up to ten years.
